What are the dimensions of an acre?
There is no single length and width for an acre. An acre is an area of 43,560 square feet. Any rectangle whose length × width equals 43,560 square feet is one acre.
If the acre were a perfect square, each side would be about 208.71 feet. But a one-acre rectangle could also be 100 × 435.6 ft, 150 × 290.4 ft, or 200 × 217.8 ft.
How this calculator works
First, acreage is converted to square feet. Then the required length is calculated from the width you choose:
Length = (acres × 43,560) ÷ width
The calculator also reports the perimeter of that hypothetical rectangle. This is useful for comparing layouts, but it is not a substitute for measuring the actual parcel.
Why shape matters
Two properties with exactly the same acreage can have very different perimeters. A long narrow parcel generally has more perimeter than a compact square parcel of equal area. That can change fence quantity, road frontage, driveway layout and how easily a garage, pool or other project fits.

No. 200 × 200 feet is 40,000 square feet, which is about 0.918 acres.
How long is a 1-acre lot that is 100 feet wide?
43,560 ÷ 100 = 435.6 feet long.
What is the perimeter of a square acre?
A square acre has sides of about 208.71 feet, so its perimeter is about 834.84 feet.
Can acreage tell me the property frontage?
No. Frontage depends on the actual parcel geometry and orientation, not acreage alone.
